Alfreda Helene Sauve Lalancette Sunday June 14th 2020 avis de deces

It is with heavy hearts the family of Alfreda Helene (Freda) Sauve (nee: Lalancette) announce her peaceful passing at home on Sunday June 14, 2020 surrounded by love and with her cherished daughter Sue by her side. Freda was born March 8, 1932 in Sudbury Ontario to Alfred and Dora (nee: Pilon) Lalancette (both predeceased). She met the love of her life John Sr. and they were married July 1, 1953 in Sudbury Ontario. Sadly, John passed away 10 years ago on May 13, 2010. Freda and John raised 6 beautiful children; 5 boys and 1 girl and she will be deeply missed by each of them. Left to carry on her story are Norm (Elaine) of Sault Ste. Marie ON, Mike (Francesca) of Lively ON, Dan (Donna), Marc (Carole predeceased 2018), Sue (Robert) and John Jr. (Sandra) all of Sudbury ON.
When the children were young Freda and John purchased a camp on the West Arm of Lake Nipissing. As soon as school let out in June this is where you would find Freda and her children. Many wonderful and still talked about memories were made at that camp. Everybody has a camp story about Mom. Freda hosted many get togethers at the camp over the years. Family and friends came from near and far for fun, fishing and a few shenanigans. One of Freda’s passions was bingo and she was pretty good at winning at it too. Then she discovered the Casino. Now that was a whole new adventure. She loved her trip to Casino Rama with Sue and her sister Teresa. Her favorite ball team was the Toronto Blue Jays. She knew all the players by name and their stats. She also wasn’t shy about letting them know when they were not playing up to par. If you were visiting Memere it was expected that you stay and enjoy a ball game or two with her. She was able to see the Jays play live when her son John took her and Teresa on a trip to Toronto. She was like a kid visiting Disneyland for the first time. She talked about it for years.
Freda was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was happiest when they were all together. Oh, how her eyes would light up and she would smile from ear to ear. She was the best Memere in the world to Jocelyne of Maple, ON, Michelle (Anthony Alfano) of Sault Ste. Marie ON, Carly of Kelowna B.C., Aaron (Samantha) of Lively ON, Amber (Paul Taylor) of Sudbury ON, Tylor of Sudbury ON, Joel Ouellette (Amy) of Ottawa ON, Justin (Nick), Chantal, Chantelle, Curtis and Jordan all of Sudbury ON. Great Memere to Alyssandra and Aiva-Jade of Maple ON, Parker and Beckham Alfano of Sault Ste. Marie ON, Nicholas Ouellette of Ottawa ON and Jona Taylor and her daughter Mira of Sudbury ON.
Freda is survived by her sisters Lorraine Francoeur (late Bill) and Theresa Lachance (late Fern) and many nieces and nephews who all cherish fond memories of spending time with Aunt Freda. She is predeceased by her siblings and their spouses; Lucien (Anita), Aline Roy (Hubert Roy and William Labre), Colombe Jones and Gilbert.
The family would like to thank Maison McCulloch Hospice for their support in helping to bring Mom home. The nurses from Bayshore; Lynn, Cory and Dustin for the respect and care they provided. Monique and Gail the PSW’s from Home Instead for the tenderness and love they showed to Mom during these last few weeks. You all made Mom’s last wishes come true.
Thank you to Dr. Moe St. Martin for caring for Mom all these years. Also; Dr. Monique St. Martin. Without her guidance we could not have brought Mom home to spend these last few days with her. For that we will be forever grateful.
The Sauve boys (Norm, Mike, Dan, Marc and John) would like to express our heartfelt gratitude and love for our sister Sue. There are not enough words to express how much we appreciate all that you have done for Mom over the years. We love you Suzie Q.
Cremation has taken place. As per Mom’s wishes there will be no visitation or service. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date; when we can all safely gather to remember and share stories of our dear sweet Mom.
Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or Angels in Pink.
