Alan Ralph MacPherson
1936-2020
MacPherson, Alan Ralph, 83, Truro, passed away Thursday,
January 23, 2020, in The Mira Nursing Home, Truro. Born in Sydney, he
was the son of the late William and Ruth (Menzies) MacPherson. Alan
was a member of the Salvation Army, Truro, Corp and a member of the
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 26, Truro. Alan worked for many years as
a custodian for the YMCA, Sydney. He was the last surviving member of
his immediate family.
He is survived by his son, Alan Jr. (Heidi); grandchildren,
Bailey and Gregory; close friends, April Bond and family and Leigh and
Lewis Quilty; many, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Gloria (Hughes)
MacPherson.
No visitation by request. Funeral service will take place on
Tuesday, Jan. 28th at 2 pm in the Salvation
Army, Truro Corps, 14 Outram Street, Truro, with Major Rocky Bishop
and Major Janice Bishop officiating. A reception will follow. Burial
will take place at a later date in Hardwood Hill Cemetery, Sydney, NS.
Donations in memory may be made to the Salvation Army Corp, Truro.
