William’s Obituary
It is with profound sadness that the family of Bill Snow announce his passing at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Centre on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at the age of 92 years. Originally from North Sydney, Cape Breton, Bill lived the majority of his life in Montreal playing music, as well as owning his own radio show in Nova Scotia, broadcasted to over 75 radio stations across Canada. Bill travelled all over the world sharing his music, playing with legends such as Hank Snow, Ernest Tubb, and the Dean Martin Golddiggers. Music was Bill’s life and he was happiest entertaining at his unique shows. Bill played for war veterans in his free time and sang at loved one’s bedsides to comfort them when it was their time to pass. Bill’s second passion was the railroad. He often said that he would have been a conductor if it weren’t for his first love of music and loved travelling by train. Bill was an avid animal lover and had love and compassion for all living things. Where you seen Bill, you seen a cat by his side. Above all else, Bill loved his family more than life itself. He loved family get togethers filled with love and laughter. Bill’s hearty laughter brought immeasurable joy and happiness to his family and friends. Bill loved with all his heart, and is leaving to mourn his former spouse and mother to his children, Maggie; his children: John (Melina), and Sandra (Andrew); his grandchildren: Rebecca, Casey, Devon, and Melanie; and the countless friends and distant family he loved so much. Bill was predeceased by his parents: Lillian Snow and James Lundrigan; his aunts: Ethel and Ida; his uncles: John and Victor; and his grandson Andrew who was born sleeping. The family of Bill wishes to thank the staff of the Corner Brook Long Term Care Centre for their care and support during such a heartbreaking time. There will be no formal visitation or funeral service at this time. Interment to follow at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, the family feel Bill would have wanted donations to be made to the local SPCA or animal charities.
