Decker, Sharon Diane (nee Gaston)
Nov. 25, 1953 – Dec. 11, 2019 It is with profound sadness that the family of Sharon Decker announces the sudden passing of their beloved wife and mother. Cherished wife of Tom of 43 years, treasured mother of Brian, Bradley, & Cameron (Courtney). Precious Daughter of Kathleen Gaston, (late Marshall), and much loved sister of Marsha Jarrell (Chris Phillips), Annette Wilson (John), Kathy Gaston (Marvin), Marshall (Christina), and predeceased by her brother Kevin and nephew James Gaston. Also remaining to mourn are Tom’s brothers Tim (Robin), Todd (Zena), Terry (Shelly), & sister-in-law June (late Ted). She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sharon was an avid reader, crossword and puzzle enthusiast and a valued volunteer with the Alzheimer Society of Haldimand/Norfolk. She also enjoyed her outings with the Grade 13 Crew, as well as the Gas Company Girls. Sharon worked many years for Union Gas and had recently retired from the Provincial Courthouse in Simcoe. We would also like to thank the many friends and neighbors who have already been so accommodating at this trying time. Friends and family are invited to share their memories of Sharon at visitation at THOMPSON WATERS FUNERAL HOME, 102 First Ave., Port Dover (519) 583-1530 on Monday, December 16, 2019 from 2 pm to 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm to 9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church, Lynn Park Rd. Port Dover on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 11 am. Father Alan Dufraimont celebrant. Cremation to follow. For those wishing, donations in Sharon’s memory are asked to consider the ALS Society of Canada, The Alzheimer Society of Haldimand/Norfolk or a charity of choice.
