Obituary of Mary Jane Newell (nee Fardella)
Born May 14 1956 at Kingston General Hospital. Died peacefully at Kingston General Hospital Friday morning November 29 2019
Mary Jane was predeceased by her mother Peggy Fardella (Farquhar), father Anthony Fardella and infant sister, Heather. She is fondly remembered by her husband, Dennis Newell, son, Chad Newell as well as her brother Joseph Fardella (Donna Forster). Mary Jane will be missed by an extensive number of Fardella cousins in Canada as well as in Scotland, where her mother was born and raised. She was a respected member of the local nursing community, for over 30 years, having worked for the majority of her career at St. Mary’s of the Lake Hospital. She recently retired from St. Mary’s and was pursuing other interests. Mary Jane will be missed by many family members, friends and colleagues for her zest for life and caring support of all those she was close to. Mary Jane will be particularly missed by her good friends Mary Lee and Karen. Special thanks to the Oncology and Palliative Care team on Connell 9, who supported Mary Jane during her last hours, to Amanda Farrow, social worker, for her sensitivity to the family during this time and to Len Fardella whose support of the family was appreciated. Memorial donations can be made to the Kingston Humane Society. A Celebration of her life will be held at St John the Apostle Catholic Church 88 Patrick Street Kingston Saturday December 14 at 10:00 am.
