Obituary of Marty Koke
KOKE: Martha ‘Marty’ –
Marty Koke passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Saviour on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at the age of 79 years.
Marty was born in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands, daughter of the late George and Grace (DeHaas) Antuma.
Loving wife of Keith Koke for 58 years.
Cherished mother of Debbie Koke-Schmidt (Tony Groza), the late Cindy Koke-Haalstra (Jeff Haalstra) and Ken Koke (Marg Haalstra-Koke).
Beloved Nana to Adam Schmidt, Lydia Schmidt, Vanessa Schmidt, Laura Carmer (Nick); Rachel Haalstra-Huntington (Matt), Michelle Haalstra, Shane Haalstra; Myles Koke and Madi Koke.
Sister to the late Simon Antuma (late Wilma), the late George Antuma (Jean), Peter Antuma (Inkse), Fred Antuma (LeeAnn), Maryke James (the late Francis), the late Jean Coolen (late Jeff), Driek Frak (late Louis) and Els Vanschubert (Al).
Sister-in-law of Jane Van’tVoort (Bas), the late Ed Koke (2019) (Cookie) and Marianne Massey (late Dennis).
She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Marty’s joy came from her family. Marty’s strength came from her walk with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, holding 1 Peter 5:7 dear to her daily life, « Casting all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you ». Marty was a steadfast and loyal Wife, Mother, Nana, Sister, Aunt and Friend.
Family will receive friends at Living Hope Free Reformed Church located at 159 Gregory Drive East, Chatham for visitation on Friday, December 27, 2019 between 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul’s Congregational Church / Discover Life, 450 Park Ave West, Chatham at on Saturday 11 am with Pastor Tim Bergsma officiating. Interment at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham (family only).
A light lunch will be served in the fellowship room of the church after the interment.
Thanks to Chatham-Kent EMS, doctors and nurses at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance as well as Windsor Regional Hospital.
