Obituary of Korey Michael Sweeney
It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Korey Michael Sweeney on Sunday December 1, 2019. He was only 27 years old.
Korey was born June 30, 1992 in Gatineau, QC. He was currently residing in Langley, BC. Korey leaves behind his loving parents Judith Mongeon, Ronald Sweeney, his two sisters Kathleen Drummond and Krista Sweeney. Grandmother Elizabeth Mongeon, God Father and uncle, Daniel Mongeon and his four nieces, whom he loved very much, Madison, Makenzie, Kassidy and Jayde.
Korey will be remembered for his beautiful smile that lit up the room no matter where he went. With his kindness, Korey would give the shirt off his own back if it meant helping someone in greater need than himself. His loyalty to his friends all over the Country was precious to his heart.
Korey cherished his family most of all. No matter what the situation he was always there. Whether it was to comfort in sadness, lend a helping hand or just to make us laugh with his special sense of humour.
Korey touched many hearts and will be truly missed. He will forever be in our hearts.
Family and friends are invited to St John the Baptist Catholic Parish (3 Hospital Street, Fort McMurray, AB), for the service and a Celebration of Life to follow on December 18, 2019 at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or your local homeless shelter would be appreciated by the family.
