Lafreniere, Helen Lillian (nee Smith)
It is with great sadness we announce the death of our dear mom. Helen passed away at Rosewood Retirement Residence in Kingston on Thursday November 28th, 2019 in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Murray Bartlett (1958) and best friend and beloved wife of 50 years of the late Aurel Lafreniere (2011). Loving mother of Sherry Sawas, Karen Howard, Craig Bartlett, the late Brad Bartlett (2019), the late Michael Lafreniere (2016), Sandra Brash and Marc Lafreniere. Helen will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Michelle, Alicia, Ellen, Shannon, Carlye and Matthew and great grandchildren Cameron, Ethan, Emily, Jaxson and Grayson. Helen is survived by her loving brother Ed Smith. Helen will be fondly remembered by her sons in law, daughter in law, extended family and dear friends. Mom was a wonderful person and will be missed dearly. She was an unbelievably strong woman with a deep and unconditional love of family. We are thankful for so many wonderful memories.
Family and friends will be received at James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, Kingston on Friday December 6th from 1:00 pm until 1:50 pm. The funeral service will begin in the chapel at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Peter Ryttersgaard officiating. There will be a private family interment at Cataraqui Cemetery followed by a reception in the James Reid Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Helen’s memory. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Rosewood Retirement Residence, St. Elizabeth and ParaMed for their exceptional and compassionate care.
