It is with grieving hearts that the family announce the passing of our beloved Filomena in her 50th year. Surrounded by her family on December 14, 2019. Cherished wife of Joe Toito for 18 years. Loving mother of Adriana Catarina and Gabriel Isaac. Treasured daughter of Exaltina and the late Domingos Lopes. Dear sister of Starr Frade (George) and Natalia Mastroluisi (Elio). She will be sadly missed by her god daughter and niece Madelyn, mother and father-in-law Preciosa and Jose Toito and many cousins and friends. Filomena has been a dedicated and compassionate nurse for 28 years, spending most of them as a Cardiac Nurse with Hamilton General Hospital, 5 South Ward. A special thank you to the doctors and staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton General Hospital and Juravinski Hospital for their care and compassion over the past few months. Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home – « William J. Markey Chapel », 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Thursday, December 19th from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, 63 Highway 20 East, Stoney Creek on Friday, December 20th at 10:00 am. Cremation will follow. For those who wish, memorial donations made to the Hamilton Health Sciences or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
