It is with much sadness, the Murray family announces the peaceful passing of our brother, David. Born in Saint John on March 16, 1949, he was the eldest of four children to the late Harold J. and the late Doris (Trenholm) Murray. David worked for many years as a paper maker at Irving Paper in East Saint John until his retirement in 2009. For 18 years he owned and managed his business, Princess Street Laundromat and Style ‘n’ Tan in uptown Saint John. Dave was a wonderful brother and father figure to his surviving siblings Norman (Darlene), Saint John, Stephen, Edmonton Alberta, and Gail (Michael) Donnahee, Saint John.
He held a very special place in his heart for his three nieces Christa (Larry) Parent, Sarah (Rachel) Donnahue, Janelle Landry and his only nephew, Scott Murray (Shelley) along with great nieces Marcie Parent, Violet Landry and great nephews Marckus Parent and Dax Murray. David also had much love for his only remaining uncle, Cedric (Mary) Trenholm. Besides his parents, David was predeceased by his Uncle Rev. Herman Trenholm, Aunt Margaret Trenholm, close cousins Becky and Ron and his life partner Rob.
Visitation will be held at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John on Thursday, December 26 from 6-8 and Friday, December 27 from 6-8. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 28 at 11:00 am in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at a later date.
