SMITH, Clarence Frederick- It is with deep sadness the family shares the passing of Clarence Frederick Smith, 82 of Clark’s Harbour. Clarence passed away in Surf Lodge Nursing home on Tuesday December 31, 2019. Born on April 6, 1937 in Clark’s Harbour, Shelburne County Clarence was the son of the late Frederick and Eva Smith. Clarence was a fisherman who loved being on the water. He was a quiet man who said few words but enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends listening to stories of family adventures to Ellenwood Island and fishing. Clarence is survived by his sister Blanche (Roll), brother, Neil (Nancy), aunt, Betty Smith, brother in law, James Harris as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, his sisters, Jeanette Nickerson, Mildred Harris, brother Clyde Edwin in infancy, nephew, Aaron Harris, great niece, Shannon Harris and nephew, Reuben Smith. Clarence previously lived at Atlantic Heights where he enjoyed his friends and staff. He then resided at Surf Lodge, Lockeport, NS where he received wonderful care. The family would like to thank the staff and Dr. Riley for their kindness and compassion they showed him over the years. Clarence will be sadly missed. There will be a visitation held, Friday, 7-9 p.m. at the H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. The funeral service will take place, Saturday, January 4, 2020, 2 p.m. at the H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, with Pastor Tim Garren officiating. Interment to follow in the Oakvale Cemetery, Clark’s Harbour. It has been requested there be family flowers only; in lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
