Veronica Catherine Dandy
With sad hearts we regret to announce the sudden passing of Veronica Catherine Dandy, 62, on Monday October 21, 2019, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Sydney Mines on November 20th, 1956, she was the daughter or the late Roderick and Catherine Campbell. She was a member of the Holy Family Parish in Sydney Mines.
Veronica and her adoring husband Colin, spent 26 years side by side working in the fishing industry. Together, their passion for being on the water brought joy to their lives and brought family together.
Veronica’s greatest joys were her family and her incredible talent for cooking. She was famous for bringing loved ones together with her many recipes, her passion for The Toronto Maple Leafs and consistent open heart.
Her sister, Michelle Caldwell, was a constant companion and cherished best friend with a bond much stronger than just sisterhood.
Veronica is survived by her loving husband Colin Dandy, one daughter, Kathleen Dumont and one son, Denis Dumont. Also left to mourn are her niece Amanda MacDonald (Richard), nephew Brandon Caldwell (Krista) and nephew Travis Caldwell (Joeigh). A very special place in her and Colin’s heart belonged to her great-niece Abbi, who was a light in her life, very much as a granddaughter, who graced her with the name Nanna.
Visitation for Veronica will be held on Friday October 25, 2019, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, Main St., Sydney Mines. The funeral Mass will take place on Saturday at 10am in Holy Family Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. Jim Oliver officiating. A reception will follow in the parish hall. Words of comfort may be forwarded to her family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Veronica Campbell Dandy 2019..
