Robert Mario Morimanno

Robert Mario Morimanno
1968-2019
Robert M. Morimanno passed away on October 2, 2019 at the age
of 51 years.
Born in Montreal, QC, Robert attended three educational
institutions that shaped his mind and outlook. Le Collège
Saint Alexandre, Gatineau; le Collège Jean-de-Brebeuf,
Montreal; and, Ottawa University.
Robert completed his career as a Project Management
Professional (PMP) and Black Belt with the Executive Council Office,
Government of New Brunswick. His favourite work involved consulting on
strategic projects, training, and helping colleagues achieve their
goals. Nothing was more satisfying for Robert than seeing others
succeed.
Robert loved life. Enjoyed every day. Following his terminal
brain cancer diagnosis in August 2018, Robert made the most of his
remaining time. Through his actions and writings to friends and
family, he left a beautiful legacy of his final days and months that
inspired us to be our best, and left few untouched.
When not walking the streets of Fredericton, sporting his
man-bun and holding hands with his spouse of 26 years, Laura; Robert
could be seen around the city teaching fitness classes at the YMCA and
Goodlife clubs, coaching youth soccer with the Fredericton Soccer
Association, or teaching cross country skiing with the Wostawea
club.
It was customary for Robert to give out high fives if he
spotted you on city sidewalks. It was his way to show that life is
good and that he cared about you.
Robert built numerous life long friendships, always making a
point of putting others at ease and leaving them with a kind word and
a smile. « Try to leave them smiling » was his
M.O.
Robert is survived by his wife and best friend, Laura Davey,
and sons Pascal and Caleb; both his pride and joy.
Robert will be fondly remembered by his parents Andre
Morimanno and Theresa (nee Henri), uncles Paul Morimanno, Thomas Gibb;
aunts Helena Morimanno and Helene Gibb (nee Henri); brothers Louis
(Marlene Piitz), and Pierre (Denise Potvin), their children Nick,
Emily, Lucas and Vincent, Isabelle, Sophie, et Gabrielle.
Robert will also be missed by his In-laws, Owen Davey and Marilyn (nee
Mahoney) and their daughters Melissa Davey and Christina Vogan (Warren
Vogan) and their children Olivier, Zoe and Matthew.
Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home,
160 York Street on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9
pm. A Celebration of Robert’s life will be held at
St. Paul’s United Church, 224 York Street on Wednesday,
October 9, 2019 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Michelle Armstrong will
officiate. People are invited to wear bright clothing in
honour of Robert’s love of dangerously colourful shirts,
soccer jerseys or Wostawea jackets.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the
YMCA Fredericton Endowment Fund.
