February 2, 1946 – October 26, 2019
It is with deep sorrow we announce the peaceful passing of Lorraine, surrounded by family and friends, at Riverview Health Centre.
Lorraine is predeceased by her parents, Rene and Josephine Chamberland, father and mother in law, Gerry and Mae LeFlour, brothers Leo and Gilles Chamberland, and infant daughter, Nadine.
Left to mourn and remember her fondly are her husband Eugene, children, Maxine (Glenn) LeFlour and grandson Ryan (Amy), Alice (Richard) Bashuski and granddaughter Olivia, and Gerri (Doug) LeFlour and grandsons Dylan and Derek; her great-granddaughter, Horizon; as well as brothers, Andre (Andrea) Chamberland and Roger (Michelle) Chamberland, in laws, Aline Chamberland, Gertrude Warwaruk, Peter (Patsy) Lafreniere, Kris (Mavis) LeFlour, Janet (Albert) Phripp, Marilyn LeFlour; Aunts Sister Agnes Jolicouer omi, Cecile Brissette, Uncles Bapiste (Lynn) Jolicouer and Georges Desorcy; umpteen cousins, numerous nieces and nephews, very special friends Verna Bashuski, Simona Stoica, and Nicole Massicotte, and many more wonderful friends, too many to name.
Lorraine grew up in St. Boniface. She was teaching school in Camperville, Manitoba when she met and married Eugene in 1968. They moved to Winnipeg to start their family, and eventually moved to Thompson and Edmonton before returning back to Winnipeg in 1983. She appreciated each of the jobs she held with various companies, but truly enjoyed her time spent as manager at 33 Hargrave where she met so many wonderful people and made lifelong friends. Before retiring, she worked at the Winnipeg Tax Centre for 15 years and in true Lorraine fashion made many more friends.
In her retirement, she was able to enjoy travelling to visit family, most importantly her grandsons and great granddaughter. Lorraine was a member of the Catholic Women’s League, St. Edward’s Council where she held executive positions and enjoyed planning and taking part in the various activities.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. St. Godard and the nursing staff at Riverview Heath Centre, Palliative Care Ward for their excellent care and compassion. We would also like to thank Dr Young and Josh at Prairie Trail Medical Centre for their care.
Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Saturday, November 2 at 9:00 am at St. Mary’s Cathedral, 353 St Mary Ave., with Father Geoffrey Angeles presiding. A reception will follow in the parish hall. Interment to take place at Assumption Cemetery.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Lorraine LeFlour 02/02/1946 10/26/2019..
