Joanne Bernice Green March 8th 1942 October 25th 2019

It is with profound sadness we regret to announce the passing of Joanne Bernice Green on Friday, October 25, 2019 after a long and courageous battle with acute osteoporosis. Joanne’s true passions in her life were her family, her wonderful years at Buena Vista Beach, and appreciating nature. She loved taking long walks with her adored dogs (Inky, Jody, Corky, Holly and Gabby) along the walking path at Regina Beach and her career working with children in the Regina Separate School Board as a Teacher’s Assistant. Mom was a crafty person and created many cross-stitch art works for her children and grandchildren along with hand crafted dolls, stained glass gifts, bird houses and many other unique projects crafted with love that will be treasured. Visiting Grandma meant the aroma of homemade soups and her ever special variety of muffins and Eatmore bars. Building memories was important for Mom; as a result Holiday gatherings (especially Christmas) were special and much effort was put into making them memorable with food and family fellowship. She was Dad’s main sidekick on all their building projects and many other projects inside and outside the house. She was a lover of literature and read voraciously and had a knack for writing beautifully. Antique furniture was also one of her loves with the history behind them many of which she refinished herself. Mom has left us a legacy of love, how to love, help others and the importance of Family, and Family connections in our lives.
She leaves cherished memories with her daughters Sandy (Courtney), Lynn (Don) and son Steven (Shelly) and her beloved grandchildren Sarah (Tyler), Shandel (Jeremy), Luke, Jasyn (Emily), Jayme-Lee (Mitchell), Emily (Jerry), Mekiel and Rami; seven great-grandchildren Avery, Hudson, Carson, Dawsyn, Aria, Annie and Margaux; sisters Myrna Thibodeau and Dianne (Glen) Leedham; brothers-in-law Stan Sojonky and Raymond (Joyce) Green; sister-in-law Jean Green; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends. Joanne was predeceased by her beloved husband David; parents Harold and Bernice Pugsley; parents -in-law Fred and Freda Green; grandson Joseph; sister Catherine Sonjonky; brothers-in-law Don Thibodeau and Malcolm Green; niece Debbie Polischuck and nephew Mark Sojonky.
In respect of Joanne’s wishes there will be no service. A private family celebration of her life will take place at a later date in the beautiful Qu’Appelle Valley. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Vasquez, Dr. Johnson, and the Palliative Care Nurses for their compassionate care of our Mother. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Hospitals of Regina Foundation – Palliative Care Unit 225, 1874 Scarth Street, Regina, SK S4P 4B3. We appreciate all your love and support!

Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Joanne Bernice Green March 8th 1942 October 25th 2019..
