Jason’s Obituary
Jason Harris Spinney
August 7, 1975 – July 31, 2019
SPINNEY, Jason Harris ~ It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Jason Spinney on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, in Greenwood. Born on August 7, 1975, in Berwick, he lived in Greenwood. Jay attended West Kings District High School for his junior years and completed high school years at Bridgetown Regional High School where he was President of Student Council in his graduation year. He took Retail Meat Cutting and years later Plumbing at NSCC, Kingstec Campus in Kentville. Over the years Jay worked for Bowlby’s Quality Meats, Larsen Packers, Meadowbrook Farm Meat Market, Greenwood Recycle Depo, and Second Glance Property Management. In his youth Jason was a member of the Boy Scouts Movement and his love for the outdoors grew from there. Jason was happiest when he was hunting, fishing, biking, four wheeling, canoeing, snowmobiling and especially visiting his many friends. He was always a very caring and loving person. His infectious smile would light up a room and he was always ready to entertain and bring amusement to a situation. You never knew what Jay was going to do next but it always brought a smile to your face. Even at 43, he was considered one of the kids by everyone in our family. Jason will be missed by his parents, Perry & Margie (McKearney) Spinney; sister, Jennie Spinney; grandfather, Gordon Spinney; uncles and aunts, Butch & Nancy (Spinney) Emmett, Dan Spinney & Joanne Fortin and former spouse, Julie Kay, Allison Spinney & Bonnie Monk and former spouses May Ocean & Sharyl Beattie, John McKearney and former spouse Bev McKearney, Charlie McKearney & Derek LeGard, and Roger & Rose (McKearney) Atkinson; cousins, Doug & Tara (Spinney) Hirtle, Randy & Leah Spinney, Tyson Spinney, Caitlin Spinney, Caleb Lewis, Troy & Shyloe (Whynot) Emmett, Nick and Erin (Spinney) Schultz, Chris & Amanda (Ward) Spinney, Craig & Jessica (Atkinson) Lines, Alex & Jessica (Atkinson) Brown, Taylor Atkinson, Sean & Melisa McKearney; and many great uncles and aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.
