Irene Petruk, late of Prince Albert, SK, passed away on October 16, 2019, at the age of 74 years.
Irene was born in Kinistino on February 21, 1945. Later on she moved with her family to Prince Albert. She met and married Peter Petruk in November 1966, and together they raised three children. Mom had a few jobs and volunteered, but she was most proud of being a matron for the Prince Albert Police Service. Once retired Mom continued with her flower gardens, needle point, knitting and spending time visiting with friends and precious loved ones.
Irene will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Kathy Petruk (Shawn Miller) and children, Kyle and Courtney Kezar (Andrew Woods); her daughter, Maureen Cable; her son, Brad Petruk and his daughter, Kaitlin, and her mother, Tammy Hollaczek; her siblings, Art (Marj) Christianson, Jean Cheney, May (Dan) Shumay, and Betty (Larry) Michayluk; as well as numerous other relatives.
She was predeceased by her husband, Peter; parents, Frances and Samuel Christianson; step-father, Thomas Byrne; Peter’s parents, Tom and Matrona Petruk; sister, Yvonne Dagenais; two siblings in infancy; brothers-in-law, Walter Petruk and John Petruk; and son-in-law, Mike Cable.
The Funeral Service for Irene will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2019 at St. George’s Anglican Church, 1104 4th Street East, Prince Albert, SK.
