It is with profound sadness the family of Donald Vincent Dempster, husband of the late Carolyn (Gillcrest) Dempster, would like to announce his passing which occurred on October 30, 2019 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born in Saint John on July 2, 1948 to Avis (Robichaud) Dempster and the late Donald Malcolm Dempster.
Donald was a General Contractor and loved his work. He was a jack of all trades but master of none. He was an amazing father and had a personality that would light up any room. He always ‘Kept them Laughing.” He enjoyed Texas Holdem and karaoke with his family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved mother Avis, son Michael (Michelle), his daughters; Dianne Dempster (Mark) and Amy Dempster (Phil); his step-sons; Shawn Foster (Kathy) and John Foster; his step-daughter Judith Sears (Mark); brother Arthur Dempster; sisters; Carol Doiron (Ed) and Eileen ‘Nina’ Burbridge (Richard); his grandchildren; Kyle, Jessica, Alexis, Jessika, Brandon, Nicholas and Ryland; his 5 great-grandchildren; his special niece Tabitha, special friend Sharon Shannon and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife Carolyn and his father Donald, he was predeceased by his daughter Krista Moore and sister Mary Thomas.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visiting hours from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Thursday and Friday. The funeral service will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday, November 2, 2019. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances made to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or the IWK Children’s Hospital would be appreciated.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers at Bobby’s Hospice for the compassion and wonderful care they received.
