Born in Plati (Contrata Lacchi), Reggio Calabria, Italy. Peacefully passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital in his 93rd year. Domenico is predeceased by his loving spouse Teresa of 66 and a half year. Loving father of Mary and Domenico Trimboli and Paula and the late Romolo Furii. Adoring grandfather to Giuseppina «Josie» and Gino Caruso, the late Antonio Trimboli, Michael Furii and Yvonne Hunter, Andrew and Giulia Furii, Teresa and Giancarlo Ferko, and Domenic and Darcy Trimboli. Great-grandfather to Olivia, Marisa, and Luca Caruso, Samantha and Adriano Furii, and Adamo and Alessio Ferko. Predeceased by siblings Rossario and Giuseppina Portolesi, Andrea and Maria Portolesi, Rosa and Domenico Sergi, Maria and Giuseppe Di Marco, and Saverio and Giuseppina Portolesi. Predeceased by his parentsin-law Domenico Antonio Trimboli and Paola Ripolo. Brother-in-law to Salvatore Trimboli, Maria and the late Rocco Portolesi, Sarafina and the late Bruno Fabiano and the late Antonio and Concetta Trimboli, the late Domenico Trimboli as well as predeceased by Francesco and Giuseppe Trimboli (both missing in action during WWII). A special mention to Francesco and Elvira Portolesi who were more like a son and daughter than a niece and nephew. Domenico will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends all over the world. Domenico was a devoted and loving husband, not afraid to roll up his sleeves and help, an equal partner and confidant. A hands-on fantastic father and suocero, an amazing nonno and nonni. He was a determined, hard-working man who succeeded in providing a great life for his family. A devoted son, son-in-law, brother and brother-in-law. Domenico was a passionate gardener and an avid walker. A man who welcomed family and friends from near and far. Nothing pleased him more than Sunday lunch and holidays surrounded by his family. He was an employee of Fearmans Meats (now Maple Leaf) for 33 years and a founding member of the Regina Social Club. A special thank you to the compassionate care provided by Dr. Brandt-Vages and his team, the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Extendicare Long Term Care for the care our father received.
Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton Street E., on Wednesday from 3-9 p.m. with Vigil prayers at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place at All Souls Church, 21 Barton Street West, on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington. If desired, a donation to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of your choice would be kindly appreciated.
You will be forever in our hearts. We love you.
