Bowie, Brian James:
August 24, 1946 – October 7, 2019
Passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, October 7, 2019 at St. Mary’s General Hospital at the age of 73. Beloved husband of Donna (nee Hieronimus) for 52 years. Loving Dad of Kim MacDonald, Kevin (Melanie) and Kyle (Janice). Cherished Papa to Emily, Sarah, Liam, Halle and Kolton. Dear brother to Joyce (Lorne), Frances and Ruth Anne and brother-in-law to Brenda (Mark) and Wendy (Royce). He will also be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Hugh and Dorothy, parents-in-law, Clarence and Adeline, sister, Kathryn, son-in-law, Allan MacDonald and faithful furry companion, Tanjo.
Brian enjoyed the open road as a long distance truck driver for most of his life. In later years, he proudly followed his grandkids many softball, hockey and soccer games. He also loved a competitive game of Rummy and Euchre, especially when he won. His favourite pastimes were reading, watching the Blue Jays and spending time at the trailer.
Brian’s family will receive relatives and friends from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Visitation will continue from 10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2019 followed by the memorial service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home.
