Obituary of Aimé Plante
Obituary – Aime Plante
In loving memory of Aime Plante, who passed away peacefully on Monday, October 14th, 2019, at the Temiskaming Hospital, at the age of 75.
Aime will always be remembered as a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 54 years, Irene (nee Breault); proud father to his three children, Martin (late Ginette), Carol (Alain) Paquet, and Stéphane (Nathalie); loving grandfather to his six grandchildren, Luc (Carolyne), Pierre (Jackie), Martine (Richard), Janelle, Mathieu (Courtney) and Philippe (Sarah); as well as a proud soon-to-be great-grandfather to Alexi.
Aime was the youngest sibling of five children and is survived by his dear sister Florence (the late Lorenzo Hotte) of Pembroke.
He was predeceased by his parents, Damase and Aurore (nee Trudeau) of Uno Park, and his three brothers: Laurent (the late Bonnie Charbonneau) of Kapuskasing; Conrad (the late Rose Beaudry) of Englehart; and Réal (survived by Gaby Dupuis) of Charlesbourg, Québec.
Also left to mourn are the Breault family; the Paquet family: Jeremy (Suzie) and Jessica (Allen); countless nieces and nephews for whom he was labeled as “everyone’s favourite uncle”; many extended family members for whom he was the “go to guy” if they needed help with anything; as well as many cherished friends.
Aime will always be remembered fondly as a man of principle with solid integrity, a huge heart, an infectious laugh and a witty sense of humour. He was a hard worker with a longstanding career as a machinist and esteemed colleague at the Wabi Iron works and the Ontario Power Generation; an avid bowler on several teams over a span of 55 years; a dedicated volunteer fireman with the Dymond Fire Department for 38 years; he had a passion for the outdoors: hunting, boating, fishing, camping and canoeing, especially with family; his happy place was spent tinkering in his garage; he was a creative handy man who could fix just about anything with what he already had in his garage; a man whose quiet wisdom and advice was often sought.
His memory is embedded in many hearts and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Pat Logan and Dr. Céline Léger, the Care Partners and Findlay’s Pharmacy, as well as the wonderful staff at the Temiskaming Hospital for their attentive care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the “Temiskaming Hospice Palliative Care” would be greatly appreciated by the family.
Condolences and donations can be made at www.perrinfuneralchapel.com.
In keeping with Aime’s wishes, there will only be a private family service.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Aime
