William « Bill »‘s Obituary
William James Howard McHoul died unexpectedly at the London Health Sciences Centre on September 26, 2019 in the early morning, a time of day he hated. Forever remembered by his wife Kathryn. He is survived by the children he adored, William (Sarah), Alexandra (Adam), and Bradley, by his beautiful granddaughter Lillyan, and his step daughters Rachel and Isobel. He is already missed by his sisters Diana Wammes (Paul) and Jane Lavelle Farris, and by his nephews Adam, Evan, and niece Lindsay Wammes. He loved his brother in law Kevin Carter, and in laws Graham and Eleanor Carter.
Bill worked thirty two years at Canadian General Tower and in 2016 finished his BA, Honours History, a long-pursued achievement. He was very close to finishing his MA in History and was excited about getting back to research, knowing that pursuit would make his dad proud. He has instead joined his departed parents William and Margaret Audrey McHoul. A highlight of Bill’s studies was a tour of the battlefields in France and Belgium, and travelling anywhere—especially Florida—made him very happy.
These lines from a Robert Frost poem “I have promises to keep/ and miles to go before I sleep” really moved him, and he felt like he had a lot left to do, like maybe finally refinishing his Datsun 260. However, sleep came early, and we are left with memories and a lot of tools we will treasure forever.
Friends will be welcomed at the DWAYNE D. BUDGELL Funeral Home, 1105 Rest Acres Road, on Sunday from 7 – 9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday September 30, 2019 at 1 p.m. In accordance with Bill’s expressed wishes, cremation has already taken place. In Bill’s memory, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
