Mildred JEAN Murphy
1956-2019
M. Jean Murphy of Lake George, NB passed away on September 16, 2019 at
the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Jean was born on September 17,
1956 at Fredericton, NB, a daughter of the late Norman and Evelyn
(Kelly) McLean.
Jean was always the life of the party and had a heart of gold. She
enjoyed nothing more than listening to country music with a drink in
her hand and singing along. Jean dearly loved her trips to various
concerts and getaways with her friends. Nothing made her happier than
the sunshine and the water. Her love of life and strong faith
sustained her through her hardships. There wasn’t a child on
earth that Jean did not take under her wing and love like her own.
Her three boys, Paul, her sister Mary and all her family, especially
her great nieces and nephews, were her most treasured possessions.
She will live on in all their hearts.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Murphy; three sons, Cory and
Randy both of Calgary and Joey, Fredericton, NB; chosen daughters,
Alisha McLean and Kerry Murphy; her siblings, Brian McLean (Laura),
Mary Stairs (Brent) and Carol McLean (Peter Mihalaros); sisters-in-law
and brothers-in-law, Joan Stewart (Gary), Floyd Murphy (Margie),
Robert Murphy (Leona), Teresa Goodine (Raymond), Frances Mazerolle
(Gregory), Richard Murphy (Susan), Mary Ward (late Ray), Philip Murphy
(Louise) and Kathy Densmore (Darrel); her dearest friend, Lynn
MacDonald; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Vernon
and her grandparents.
Funeral service will be held at Holy Family Parish, 1500 Hanwell Road,
Fredericton, NB on Friday, September 20, 2019 at 11 am with Father
David Martin and Father Monte Peters officiating, followed by a
luncheon downstairs at the church. A gathering will be held later
that evening at the Harvey Lions Club, 4722 Route 640, Harvey, NB from
6 to 9 pm when friends can visit with the family and celebrate
Jean’s life. Interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials be made to
Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Parish designated for St. Patrick’s
Catholic Cemetery or to Harvey Outreach.
