Max van Cingel
1939-2019
The family of Max van Cingel wish to announce his passing on Sept 4,
2019 at the age of 80. Max was married to Lineke van Cingel (Tjabbes)
who predeceased him in 2003. Max was the 2nd of 2 children born to
Eltjo and Aaltje van Cingel. He is survived by his brother Herman van
Cingel.
Max and Lineke had 3 children, Eltjo van Cingel (Annette) of
Florenceville, NB, Roelof van Cingel (Stacy) of Edmonton, AB, Geke
Duncan (Ian) of Vancouver, BC
Their grandchildren are Logan van Cingel, Andrew van Cingel, Jellina
Duncan, Drea van Cingel, John Duncan, Marnick van Cingel, Emily van
Cingel.
Max was born and raised in the Netherlands, June 28, 1939. Never shy
to take a risk, he decided at the age of 42, to make the brave
decision to move his family to Killoween, NB and continue
farming.
After selling the farm in 1999, Max and Lineke moved to Hanwell, NB
and enjoyed four more years together. Without hesitation, he decided
to care for her at home until her passing in February, 2003.
Sitting at home was not really something that Max liked to do, so he
decided to study Soil Science and worked in the Netherlands, as an
agricultural consultant, every summer. Every winter he spend in
Florida with his motorhome. He retired at the age of 78, when health
complications prevented from going back to the Netherlands.
Max was a proud Rotarian and board member at the NB Federation of
Agriculture. He truly enjoyed riding his motorcycle and went on long
road trips with his longtime friend Ken till the age of 78.
Max was a very supportive father and was very proud that most of his
children have his entrepreneurial spirit. The fact that, so far, two
of his grandchildren decided to study for a business degree made him
beam with pride.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. The family
would like to thank the wonderful staff at Riverside Court Retirement
Residence and the nursing staff at URVH for their great care and
support.
