Lillian Legge
September 28, 1924 – September 27, 2019
Passed peacefully away on the eve of her 95th birthday, Lillian Legge of Cavendish, Trinity Bay. She passed away at Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, September 27, 2019 surrounded by family members.
Lillian was a lifelong member of the LOBA and the UCW in Cavendish. She cared for both her parents at home in their elder years and was a devoted aunt to her nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Corbett and Annie Legge; sisters, Frances Payne (Edward) and Phyllis Butters (John); brother, William; nephews, Donald and James; nieces, Rosalind, Shirley, Susan; and great-niece, Barbara.
Left with fond and loving memories are nephews, John Butters (Dorothy) and John Payne (Linda); nieces, Mae King (the late Brian), Phyllis Keen (the late Richard), Linda Mouland (the late Eric), Charlene (Butters) Renneberg (the late David Chafe), and Beverley Anne Butters (Ron Stamp). As well as a large circle of cousins and great nieces and nephews. She also had many dear friends including Myrtle Bishop, Evangeline Vatcher, and Lois Hicks.
Resting at Warren’s Funeral Home, Dildo with visitation on Tuesday, October 1st from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church, Whiteway on Wednesday, October 2nd at 2 p.m. with interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery in Cavendish.
Flowers are gratefully accepted, or memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
