Obituary of Isobel Gallipeau
(nee St. Louis)
January 4, 1918 – September 13, 2019
Peacefully in her sleep at home while surrounded by family, our Matriarch passed away after almost 102 years of life. Beloved wife of the late Joe Gallipeau (October 15, 1989). Mom was born in Williamstown, Ontario. The last surviving child of the late Alexander St. Louis and the late Rosalie Proulx , Isobel was predeceased by 21 siblings. Dearly loved mother of Rosalie Pardy (John), Diane Gervais (Jacques), Thomas (Lorraine), Ronald (Marilyn) and Kenneth (Gisa). She was predeceased by 2 sons, William (Erma) and Neville (Charlotte); a daughter, Shirley Foisy (Gaston Vincent); 2 grandsons, Douglas and Jonathon Beun and a great-granddaughter, Stacey Robichaud. Cherished and forever remembered by 21 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Isobel’s final care has been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, September 17th from 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Michael’s Church, Fitzroy Harbour on Wednesday morning, September 18th at 11 o’clock. A luncheon will follow at the Fitzroy Harbour Community Centre. Interment in Roxton Pond, Quebec at a later date. In memory of Isobel, a donation to St. Michael’s Church, Fitzroy Harbour would be appreciated.
