It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Anton Specker announce his sudden passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 89 years surrounded by his family. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 61 years Rita (nee Power); his children: Michael (Cathy), BC, Paul (Joanne), ON, Robert (Gail), Christina (Ruby Peckford), Kurt (Sandra) and Mark (Amanda); grandchildren: Michael, Tara, Bradley, Jenna, Ethan, Justin, Aprille and Selina; great-grandchildren: Brielle, Eden, Luke, Aubrey, Colby and Hendrix; siblings: Joe (Beth), Tony (Annette), Otto (Dorothy), Carol (Dave Alexander) and Clara; numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Anton and Bertha Specker and sister Theresa. The family would like to thank his caregivers for their wonderful care, especially Aimee, Kayla and Julia. The family will be receiving friends at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Tuesday, September 3 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place Wednesday, September 4 at 10:30 a.m. from Fillatre’s Funeral Chapel, St. Mark’s Avenue with Father Edward Terry officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
