G. Ruth Morrison
1949-2019
It is with profound sadness that we
announce the passing of Georgina Ruth
Morrison, 70, of Sackville, surrounded by her loving
family at her home on Wednesday, September 25, 2019.
Born in Brantford, ON, Ruth was a daughter of the late
Daniel and Josie (Wilcox) Crowther.
Ruth was a member of St. Paul’s Anglican
Church, Sackville, and an active member of the ACW. She enjoyed knitting, baking
and cooking. Ruth was
a loving wife and mother.
She will be dearly missed by her husband
of fifty-five years, Claude Morrison, of Sackville; her children,
Andrew (Diane) Morrison, Sackville, NB, Wanda (Sandy) Hodgson,
Antigonish, NS, Gina (Tim) Morrison, Bowmanville, ON, and Matthew
(Janette) Morrison, Calgary, AB; eleven grandchildren, Dru, Aaron,
Jade, Reneé (Mitchel), Matthew, Michelle, Emily, Hannah,
Aidan, Ashlin, and Lily; two great grandchildren, Nathan and
Logan. Ruth was
the oldest of twelve children. She will also be missed by her
life-long friend, Sherry Williams, of Westville, NS, as well as many
nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased
by her grandson, Liam in infancy, as well as three
brothers.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge
Street, Sackville, NB, (506-364-1300). A service honouring Ruth’s life
will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Sackville, on Saturday,
September 28, 2019 at 2 pm, with a reception to follow. Father Craig O’Brien
presiding.
Interment will take place in the Glencross Cemetery,
Guysborough County, NS, at a later date.
The family would like to extend their
deepest gratitude to the Extra-Mural for their extraordinary care and
compassion during this time which allowed Ruth to stay at home
throughout her illness.
