DRYDEN, Robert “Bob”
June 01, 1946 — September 14, 2019
Bob passed away on September 14, 2019. He will be forever remembered by his wife, Judith “Judy” Louise Dryden (née Jansen); his daughter Amber Lynne Dryden (Mike Miner) and their 2 daughters Savannah and Sage; his daughter Corinne Louise (Jeff) Johnson and her stepson, Steven, and twins, daughter Paige and son Ty; as well as Bob’s sister, Sandra “Sandy” Sigurgierson and her family of Gimli, Manitoba. He was predeceased by his mother, Vera Louise (née Cunningham) Dryden, his father, Edgar Leslie Dryden, his brother Lawrence “Larry” Dryden, and his son, Brian Robert Dryden.
Born in River Heights in Winnipeg, MB at 247 Centennial Street, Bob can be best described as a “travelin’ man”. From his birthplace in Winnipeg he went on to travel Europe and the US with his buddy Rick Parker, he then returned home to become a professional Engineer at the University of Manitoba. He married Judy and started his first professional job at Easterville in northern Manitoba. Next, he went back to Winnipeg where his son Brian was born and sadly died at 18 months. Onward to Ottawa, with Federal Fisheries and Oceans, while there his two daughters, Amber Lynne and Corinne Louise, were born. The family’s next move was to Calgary, AB with the Arctic Pilot Project, followed by his work with Chevron. His career with Chevron took him to Kazakhstan and then Angola. Before retiring, the family finally moved to Kelowna, BC.
Bob’s travels all over Canada, the US, and the rest of the world in general, allowed him to make so many great friends with his engaging personality and quirky sense of humour. He will be missed by all of his family and friends.
We will raise a toast to Bob sometime next summer and request no flowers.
