Obituary
Dorothy Ross passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at the age of 97 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Elaine Anderson (Bob), of Nanton, AB, Don Ross, of Calgary, AB, and Catherine Ross-Oaks, of Calgary, AB; 9 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter; daughter-in-law Jeanette Ross; and many more family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband William Ross, son Rod Ross, and siblings Irene, Henry and Evelyn.
Dorothy was born and raised in Three Hills, AB. During WWII she joined the Canadian Air Force and was stationed in Trenton, ON. While there she met the love of her life, William Ross. They were married and after the war they moved to Winnipeg, MB, where they were blessed with their four children. In 1957, they moved to Calgary, which has been their home ever since. Dorothy loved knitting, sewing, crocheting, bowling, curling, gardening and watching sports. She also loved animals. Many family and friends have afghans that she crocheted.
Dorothy’s family will be holding a Celebration of Life for her at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made in memory of Dorothy to the Calgary Humane Society (www.calgaryhumane.ca/donate).
