1930-2019
With his family by his side, Bernard Ernest Edward Murphy of Craigs
Flat, NB, passed away peacefully at the Victoria Glen Manor on
September 9, 2019.
Born in Ortonville, NB, on July 4, 1930, he was the son of the late
Ernest and Laura (Sullivan) Murphy. He is sadly missed by his wife of
63 years Shirley (Merritt) Murphy; his son Brian Murphy of Craigs
Flat, NB; his daughter-in-law Teressa; his grandchildren Kyla Russell,
Braydon Murphy, Cora Lea Vickers and Brady Vickers of Brooks, AB; his
great grandchildren Noah and Daniel Russell; his sisters, Lois Goodine
of Woodstock, NB, Myrna Kloster of Edmonton, AB; his brothers Ray
Dixon (Dorothy) of Fredericton, NB and Conrad Dixon (Helen) of
Perth-Andover, NB; his brother-in-law, Carvell Goodine of Argosy, NB.
Bernard was predeceased by his parents; step-father Raymond Dixon;
sisters Marie Goodine, Allene Embelton, and his brother, Howard
Murphy; his brothers-in-law Dr. Frederick Goodine, Emmanuel Kloster,
Norris Embelton.
Bernard was employed at the Department of Transportation in
Perth-Andover for 30 years. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing
from a very young age and was a member of the Keenagers Club.
Resting at Brunswick Funeral Home with visitation on Friday 6-8 pm.
Funeral service will be held at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church
on Saturday, September 14 at 1 pm. Father Gilbert Doddatto
officiating. Interment will be in the Larlee Creek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Victoria County SPCA or the
Canadian Red Cross would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home,
Perth-Andover, NB.
