BRAZEAU, Alfred
Alfred J. (Tom) Brazeau, a longtime resident of Grande Prairie and the last ten years of Red Deer, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 8, 2019 at the Centennial Centre in Ponoka, at 88 years old. Dad will be lovingly remembered by his son, Tony Brazeau of Calgary; his daughter, Cathy Brazeau of Red Deer; son, Jeff (Linda) Brazeau of Airdrie; grandson, Matthew Brazeau of Airdrie; granddaughter, Kaite (Dan) Fulmore of Calgary; and Joyce Junck, his special friend of Red Deer and his golfing buddy, Ken Fedoruk of Grande Prairie. He will also be missed by, his brother, Reg (Nadine) Brazeau, his brother, Stan Brazeau; both of Terrace, B.C., his brother, Howard (Cathy) Brazeau of Westlock. Tom was born December 11, 1930 in Smith Alberta. He started working at 16 for Swanson Lumber as a Sawyer, moving on to a carpenter shop at the Gold Mine out of Yellowknife, then onto McGregor Telephone and Power as a lineman, onto Pool Construction as a carpenter, onto Charlie Turner as a Construction Foreman, onto the Department of Public Works as a journeyman carpenter, and onto Rice Engineering working in Yellowknife and Hay River. He obtained his license as a Construction Contractor and his last position was as a Building Inspector for the City of Grande Prairie. He was an active member in the G.P. Gun Club and a very passionate golfer. He also enjoyed hunting, camping, curling, ice fishing, ATVing, and snowmobiling with his family. Dad spent his final years participating in senior activities and road trips, playing pool, wood working, drawing, golfing and visiting family before severe dementia took over. He will be missed by family and friends. Dad will be interred at Alto Rest Cemetery, Red Deer along with his wife, Phyllis (Johnston)Brazeau who predeceased him. A Memorial Service will be held at Living Stones Church, 2020 – 40 Avenue, Red Deer, AB on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at 11:00 am, with a light luncheon to follow.
