VINCENT, Jack Stanley
March 12, 1941 – August 26, 2019
Jack passed away peacefully on August 26,
2019 at the Foothills Hospital after a courageous battle with leukemia. Jack leaves behind his wife of 55 years,
Lindy; 4 children – Michael (Velma); Stephen; Christa (Paul); Jason (Sue); 11
grandchildren – Nicole, Erica, Silana, Sabre, Joy, Amy, Joshua, Curtis, Simon,
Logan, Sam.
Jack was born to Francis (nee Gray) and
Stanley Vincent and grew up on a dairy farm in the Bearspaw area. He attended three different one room school
houses in Westminster, Bearspaw and Glendale Districts to the end of Grade
9. He attended High School at Mount
Royal. He remained in the Bearspaw area
for 78 years.
Jack graduated from University of Alberta
in 1966 with a Bachelor of Commerce and worked in the oil and gas industry in
finance and accounting and eventually set up his own accounting and tax
business. Some of his work and business
took him overseas to Russia and Bangladesh where his wife joined him. They travelled together to many different
places while overseas.
Jack loved trains, old cars, travelling,
history, reading, eating out with his beloved wife, and being amongst his busy
family. He was a man who lived quietly,
but did not live a quiet life; he listened well, complained little and lived an
optimistic life even to his last breath.
He will be fondly remembered by his family and many friends.
A private family graveside service will be held at St. Andrew’s Cemetery in Cochrane. A Celebration of Jack’s Life will be held in his honor at Cochrane Alliance Church (902 Glenbow Drive, Cochrane, AB) on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 2:00 pm. Reception to follow in church foyer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Cochrane Humane Society www.cochranehumane.ca
