Obituary for
Therese Daisy Fernandes (Shallom)
On July 27, 2019, Therese Daisy Fernandes of Edmonton passed away at the age of 93 years.
We are grateful for the loving presence she had in all of our lives. She was the daughter
of Patrick and Josephine Shallom (nee Lopez). Beloved Mother to June (Albert), Aaron
(Misun), Abner (Franca), Asaph (Yvonne), and Akiba. Beloved grandmother to
Genevieve (Shane), Adrian, Ryan, Marina (Andrew), Kiera, and Dylan; and
great-grandmother to Alexa, Mackenzie, and Zakaeus. And she will also be missed by
numerous relatives and friends. She is survived by one sister-in-law, Livia Almeida.
Therese was predeceased by her husband, Alban, in 2016, and one brother and four
sisters. Therese passed away peacefully, with her family by her side at Venta Care
Centre, where she lived for the last three years. The family would like to thank all the
staff at Venta Care Centre for the love, kindness, and great care she received.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edmund Roman Catholic Church, 13120 – 116 Street, Edmonton, Alberta with Reverend Mark McGee officiating. Her interment will be a private family gathering at Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Sherwood Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in Therese’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
