Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Friday, August 30, 2019, Silas Burton Alfred Nevill, of Vienna and formerly of Delhi, passed away at the age of 71 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Darlene (Holbrook) for 51 years. Proud and loving father of Linda Giesbrecht (Frank) of Vienna, Tricia Gebel (Desmond) of Delhi and Kathy Belanger (Steven) of Aylmer. Cherished grandfather of Caleb, Tara, Leah, Evan, Gracie, Paige and Logan. Dear brother of 6 sisters and 2 brothers. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Alfred and Mary Nevill, his infant daughter and son and brother Alfred Nevill Jr. Silas was an avid outdoor enthusiast. He had a true passion for trapping, fishing, hunting and sharing that with his grandchildren. Friends and relatives will be received by Darlene and her family at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Monday, September 2, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm. The Funeral Service for Silas will be held in Ostrander’s Chapel on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 11:00 am with Pastor Paul Robinson officiating. Interment to follow at the Tillsonburg Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Diabetes Association or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the Nevill family.
