The passing of Phillip « Phil » Dana Barton of Fredericton, NB, husband of Valerie (Stairs) Barton occurred on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.
Born on September 1, 1964 he was a son of the late Phillip and Glenda (MacKinney) Barton.
Phil was an employee with Devon Lumber, Maple Leaf Homes, DBK Barton Ventures and Auto Machinery.
He was known as the « Ford Guy ».
He took great pride in the care and upkeep of his home and property.
Phil was also an active member of the Devon Tim Horton’s Club.
In addition to his wife, Phil is survived by his brother, Derrek Barton (Kim); niece, Karley (Justin) Aitchison; uncle, Herschel (Mary) McKinney; aunt, Genevieve MacKinney; father and mother in law, Rod (Hazel) Stairs; brother in law, Kirk (Evelyn) Stairs; sisters in law, Esther Wood, Heather (Jason) Roberts and Beth Hatfield; nephews, Adam and Andrew Roberts.
Besides his parents, Phil was predeceased by his brother in law, Kelvin Wood.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 4-8 pm.
A Memorial Service will be held from Gibson Memorial United Church on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 11 am with Rev. Kelly Higgins officiating.
Pallbearers for the service will be Lloyd Dutcher and Terry Hodgson.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Gibson Memorial United Church or the Diabetes Association of New Brunswick.
