Manuel (Alvin) was born on September 18, 1961 in Poblacion, San Remigio, Antique, Philippines to his father, Abner Ramirez Roxas and his mother, Nilda Omallao Roxas. He was the second child among four siblings. He finished his elementary education at Calag-itan Central School and studied his secondary level at Barangbang National High School, San Remigio, Antique, Philippines. In 1977, he went to Manila and looked for a job and worked as a driver, baker, and as a factory worker. In 1984, he went home in Antique and stayed with his grandmother whom they called Naling (Nanay Saling) together with his youngest sister, Elizabeth (Beth). Manuel married to Ernie Baleña on 1986. To support his family, he worked as a jeepney driver and a farmer.
He and his 3 sons were sponsored by his wife Ernie and on April 14, 2016, they came to Canada as a permanent resident. On April 20, 2016, he got a job as a warehouse helper at Bianca Amor Liquidation Supercentre, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He enjoyed working and had a good relationship with his co-workers.
One of his accomplishments in his life with the help of his wife and children, is to invest a house in his hometown in La Union/Bato Cueva, San Remigio, Antique, Philippines, where he assured that his family will have a good place to live. His fulfillment will always be remembered up to the next generation.
