Lynda Toomer (Nee Wetmore)
It is with profound sadness and heart break that the family of Lynda Toomer announces her passing on August 9, 2019 at The Carpenter Hospice with her family by her side, after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. Cherished mother and best friend « My Louie » to Laura Toomer and Michael « Mike » Toomer (predeceased). Beloved wife to the late Raymond « Ray » Toomer. Loving sister and sister in law to Bette Watts-Duke, Bill and Sue Wetmore, and Audrey and Martin Wagner. Caring aunt and great aunt to several nephews and nieces in British Columbia and Ontario. Lynda will be greatly missed by her family and a life time of many friends and friendships. Lynda touched the lives of all she met, especially with her kindness, quick wit and incredible sense of humour. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Gathering will take place at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Wednesday August 14, 2019 from 3pm – 5pm. An Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy to The Carpenter Hospice, Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. A very special thank you to all of Lynda’s doctors and nurses, especially all the amazing staff at The Carpenter Hospice and Joseph Brant Hospital for their wonderful care. A Heartfelt thank you to all friends and family for the outpouring of love and support during Lynda’s painful and Heart Breaking journey these last few months.
