Louis Joseph Kilarski
Louis Joseph “Lou” Kilarski, resident of Grande Prairie passed away Monday, August 5, 2019, at Prairie Lakes Hospice, at the age of 73 years.
Lou was born September 5, 1945 in Edmonton, AB and was raised on his family’s farm in Bon Accord, AB. His post-secondary education as a forestry technician was in Edmonton, then Hinton, where he met the love of his life, Wilma. They married in 1968 and settled with their two daughters in Grande Prairie. He expanded his career into construction, oil, gas, and sales.
Lou was known for his humour, generous heart, and caring nature. He was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He loved to spend his time travelling, camping, and attending his grandchildren’s activities.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 51 years Wilma “Wil”; daughter Jacqui (Dan) Jaeger and their children: Justin (Shawna), Travis (Alyssa), Devan, and Janine (André); daughter Bobbi Jo (Jay) McQuade and their children: Jasmine (Jake), Katelyn, and Danica; brother Don; as well as numerous extended family members and special friends.
Lou was predeceased by his parents Paul and Josie, sister Sylvia Boddez, brother Ray, nephew Leigh, parents in-law Alf and Aileen McFarlin, and sister in-law Marg Farrell.
Prayers will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 7:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.). A Viewing will follow.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 1:00pm, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grande Prairie (10404 102 St.).
