Obituary of Gerhard Redekop
Redekop, Gerhard (George) – Passed away peacefully after a short illness on July 31, 2019 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital in his 79th year. Beloved Husband of Dayle (nee Rutledge) for 51 years. Loving Father to Chris (Beth) and Diane (Jeff) Stephens. Cherished Grandpa to Alexia and Maksim Stephens. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Cristina Redekop and older brother Peter (March 1945). Brother to Helen (Dave) Lepp. David (Guille), Elma (Rick) Kimpel and Wally (Debbie). Brother-in-law to Carol (the late Robert) Holliday, Donna (the late Bruce) Moore, Ralph and Lynda Rutledge and Wanda and Gary Beynon. Sadly missed by several nieces and nephews.
George was born in Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua, Mexico on August 11, 1940 and came to Canada along with his family in 1954. Later, he worked in the sheet metal trade for Blenkhorn and Sawle. In 1979 he began his career as a real estate agent. He sold homes and properties for over 30 years before retiring from Century 21 Today Realty in 2015.
According to George’s request, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has been entrusted to Tallman Funeral Homes in Vineland. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
