Gail passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on July 31st, 2019 in Ottawa at the age of 82. Predeceased by her husband and best friend of 58 years, William “Bill” Francis and her parents Fredrick Aldus and Phylis Richardson. Gail dedicated her life to her family of five children; Brent (Lucia), Darrell (Erin), Janet (Angus), Matthew (Christine), Dan (Melanie). Loved by her grandchildren, Benjamin (Christine), Alexander (Dionne), Graham, Hilliard, Alastair, Laura (Rafal), Christine (Babak), William, Curtis, Billy (Emma), Selina (Cameron), Megg, Jake and one great-grandson Owen.
Gail loved listening to hymns, admiring her flower gardens and the quiet visits on the porch with the people she loved. She especially enjoyed her cats and the wild birds and animals around her home.
Gail had a team of dedicated caregivers whose service and friendship will not be forgotten.
Visitation will be held at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd) on Tuesday, August 6th, 2019 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel at Pinecrest Remembrance Cemetery, 2500 Baseline Rd, on Wednesday, August 7th at 10 a.m. immediately followed by burial. A reception will be held following at the reception centre. Celebrating Gail’s life with flowers or a donation to the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation would be welcomed.
