It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Gail Davis Cohen on Saturday, August 3, 2019, after a courageous battle, at the age of fifty-seven, surrounded by her loving son, sisters and close friends. Predeceased by her beloved husband Howard Cohen. Loving and dedicated mother of Lorne. Devoted daughter of Selma and the late Barry Davis, and daughter-in-law of Rae and the late Louis Cohen. Cherished sister and sister-in-law of Judy and Andy Waks, Lynn and the late John Levitan, Susan and Mitch Stein. Adored auntie of Lisa, Mark (Amanda), Alana, Jeremy (Caiti), Brenda, Karly (Jonny), and Erin (David). Dear sister-in-law of Abi Cohen and Martin Goldsmith. Gail will be dearly missed by her many friends in Montreal and Ottawa. A talented florist, she will be forever remembered for her undeniable zest of life, consistently encouraging everyone around her to live life to the fullest. Gail never stopped fighting to stay with us, for every day that she could. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care Unit at the Royal Victoria Hospital for their compassion and kindness these past few months. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, August 6 at 12:00 noon. Burial at the Ahavath David Congregation Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at Gail’s home, 5621 Redwood Ave., C.S.L., Tuesday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Evening services at 7:30 p.m. Contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
