Frank Firkola passed away peacefully in High River on Thursday, August 8, 2019. He was born near Esterhazy, Saskatchewan on the family farm. Frank had a passion for education both as a student and an educator. He attended universities in Lethbridge, Calgary, Spokane WA, and London England, completing both a Bachelor of Education and a Master’s degree in Theology. He worked for the Calgary Separate School Board as a teacher and an administrator. He was survived by his wife of 56 years, Martha, daughter Cheryl (Daria) Emberley, son and daughter-in-law Darryl and Susan Firkola, and Daughter and son-in-law Lorelei and Hidenori Harada. Frank has 5 grandchildren, Christopher (and wife Kayla), Megan, Gillian, Tyler, and Corey, as well as 2 great-grandsons, Caiden and Kyren, all of whom he dearly loved. There will be a celebration of Frank’s life on Friday August 30, 2019, at 11 AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 206 9th Ave W High River.
