Mrs. Fran Hill, formerly of William Street Delhi and the Delrose Retirement Residence passed away at the Delhi Long Term Care Centre on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 in her 95th year. Fran was a proud Veteran of the Royal Canadian Air Force (1943-1946), Past President, Zone Commander and Lifetime Member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #125 (Delhi) and Charter Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch. Dedicated Member of the former Lynedoch United Church and the United Church Women. Member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Delhi Chapter. Active volunteer of the Canadian Cancer Society. Former Frances Marie Wheeler. Beloved wife of Willard Challand and the Late Wilfrid Hill (2004). Loving mother of Louise Locker (Late George, 2019) & Deborah Hill (Terry). Cherished grandmother of Martin Locker, Tory Locker, Janis Hill, Evan Hill & Amanda VanDenBrock and great grandmother of Courtney, Jackson, Michael, Paulina, Wynter, Sydney, Liv, Felix and Belle. Dearest sister of Ruth Hicks (Late Clinton). Also survived by several nieces & nephews. Predeceased by her son, Tom Hill (1994) and by her inlaws: Jim & Dorothy Hill and Herb & Marion Best. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (mfh.care) for visitation on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and for a Royal Canadian Legion Veteran Service at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Judy Barker officiating. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery , Lynedoch. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Legion Poppy Fund will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
