Thelma Evelyn Pfeiffer
December 10, 1930 – August 26, 2019
Our hearts are heavy with the passing of our beloved mother. However, we are filled with joy knowing that she is with her heavenly Father. Evelyn passed away at Heritage House on Monday, August 26, 2019 at the age of 88 years. Evelyn was born on December 10, 1930 on the family farm in Spruce Coulee, Alberta, the seventh of nine children. She was raised on a farm and did her schooling at Spruce Coulee and completed high school in Donalda. On April 4, 1955 she married Kenneth Pfeiffer and together they raised two sons (Scott and James) and three daughters (Julie, Jennifer and Susan).
Evelyn was always passionate about everything that she did. Much of her time was dedicated to serving the community (meals on wheels, sewing quilts for the homeless and countless hours working at the music festival and the church) She was always generous in opening her home to family, friends and often yearly exchange students.
Evelyn worked side by side with Ken building their family business “Pfeiffer House of Music” and teaching accordion lessons.
Some of our fondest memories of our mom was her sense of humor and joy that she brought to everyone. She had a room full of costumes that were put to good use in performing skits and musical performances.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Pfeiffer, daughter Julie Pfeiffer and four sisters and three brothers.
Evelyn is survived by her loving family: sister Sylvia Jones of Stettler; sons: Scott (Sherry) Pfeiffer of Stettler,
James (Sharon) Pfeiffer of Orleans, Ma., daughters: Jennifer (Sherman) Fougere of Calgary and Susan (Darrell) Stang of Blackfalds. Also, to cherish Evelyn’s memory are grandchildren: Erin (Dustin) Stauffer, Jill (Steve) Cornelssen, Dan (Kirsti) Pfeiffer and Rachel Pfeiffer, Drew and Elliot Fougere, Rachelle Stang, Tamara (Braedyn) Blain, Nicole, Dagim and Tariku Stang; Curtis and Tina Ince, Leyna (Brandon) Tsui and Carli Ince; great grandchildren Molly and Maggie Stauffer, Jade Tsui; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many dear friends.
Visitation will take place 7:00 PM at Stettler Funeral Home, 4707-70 Street, Stettler, Alberta.
A celebration of life will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 57th Street and 48th Ave in Stettler at 1 pm on Saturday, August 31, 2019. Donations in Evelyn’s memory can be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church, Heritage House or the Stettler and District Music Festival.
