SMITH, Douglas Stanley, entered into rest peacefully surrounded by his family at the Ross Memorial Hospital Lindsay on Saturday August 17, 2019. Doug, 73, was the beloved husband of Ann Smith (Perdue) for 53 years. Greatly missed by his three daughters and their partners: Brenda Grant (Rob), Carol Bell (Noel), and Lisa Smith. He was a loving grandfather to Kaleigh (Adam), John (Angel), Ashley (Andy), Robyn (Jay), Luke (Yukako), Sara (Josh), Nick (Lissie), and Justin (Madi). Loving great grandfather to Cody, Chloe, Kali, Kaleb, and Amelia. Dear brother of Earl Smith (Lori), Noreen Bird (Wyn), and Sharon Geddes (Rob). Predeceased by brother Don Smith (Nancy) and his parents Nelson and Doris Smith. Doug will be greatly missed by his large extended family. Doug was an avid hunter his whole life, and enjoyed fishing and golfing with his many friends and family. Time spent at the cottage were some of his best times, raising a glass of beer, and playing baseball with the Perdue Pirates. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all friends and family for their ongoing support, with a special thank you for the caring words and actions from the nurses and doctors at RMH Trauma and ICU. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Downeyville, Ontario Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. Burial at St. Luke’s Cemetery.
