Wayne will be sadly missed by his best friends Mike (Grace), Dennis, and William Myran who were very close to him as brothers and their families. Wayne had a very large circle of people who he loved and loved him who are too numerous to mention. He will be missed by his godchild Christina and family and his coach/mentor Charles and family. To all the children and youth to whom he interacted with in the community, especially at Turtle Island where he worked, Wayne Jr loved you very much as his own children. Much appreciation to Susan Chief and the Bear Clan Patrol, and to his favourite restaurants Newcastle Restaurant (Kim & Esther) for his favourite dish, to Santa Lucia for donating Greek Salad (extra olives, extra onions), and to Booster Juice Northgate (Adam & Himal).
Many thanks and appreciation to Dr. Ian Whetter and staff at Northern Connection Medical Centre, palliative care nurses and respite workers. Gichi Miigwetch to his mother Agnes, auntie Mildred, sister Ashley, brother Raymond, Mike, Dennis, and William Myran who were there to make sure he was fed, comfortable and happy at all times until he went on his journey.
Wayne was very kind, loving, courteous, generous, humble and well-mannered with all the people he met in his life. He enjoyed being active, square dancing, but loved his basketball the most and he loved coaching the children and youth to develop their skills and perfect their three point shot. He wanted people to love one another, express their feelings, hug each other and eat well. Gi zaagigoo Wayne Jr, you are forever in our hearts, Minawaa gigawaabamigoo!
Gichi Miigwetch! to the community for contributing food.
