Carolyn Rebecca (Higgins) Hiscott 1916-2019
Peacefully, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital,
Fredericton, NB, on Sunday, August 25, 2019, in her
103rd year. Becky was born in East Earltown,
NS, the eldest daughter in a large and close family.
Beloved wife for 73 years of the late Ernest Hiscott,
treasured mother of Carolyn (Duke) Murray, Fredericton, NB, and Wendy
(James) Newman and Jill (Peter) Ackerman, Hamilton, ON. Proud and
dearly loved grandmother of Charles Murray (Sarah Ketcheson),
Fredericton, NB; Shannon (Brian Creary), Winnipeg, MB; Stephanie (Kenn
Mainville), Edmonton, AB; Joan Moriarity, Toronto, ON; Heather Webb,
Cranfield, UK; and Matthew Migliardi (Robin Moses), Long Reach, NB.
Proud and doting GG of Lydia Mainville, Ava Carolyn Mainville, Daniel
Mainville, Charles Mainville (Hannah Martin), Gideon, Grant and
Elizabeth Murray, Nicholas Migliardi, and Samuel, Emily, and Aidan
Creary. Also survived by sister Eyleen MacLeod, Truro NS, and brothers
Borden Higgins, Ormond Beach, FL and Curtis (Gerry) Higgins,
Burlington, ON.
Predeceased by infant daughter Shelley, brothers Charles,
Robert, and Harold, and sisters Willena, Dorothy, Lyla, and
Jaye.
Sadly missed by neighbours and companions in Florida and New
Brunswick and St. Anne’s Court, Fredericton. Becky was a
remarkable woman, a gracious hostess, and a keen curler and Bridge
player. She was a woman of deep faith and we were blessed that she
remained a vital part of the family until her final days. The family
thank the kind and caring staff of 4NW Chalmers
Hospital.
There will be a Memorial Service at the J.A. McAdam Chapel at
McAdam’s Funeral Home, 160 York St. Fredericton on
Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Wayne Flowers
officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home. In lieu of
flowers, the family would appreciate donations to a charity of the
donor’s
choice.
