Obituary of Brian Craig Wood
May 11, 1959 – August 10, 2019
Brian Craig Wood passed away unexpectedly on August 10, 2019 in Grande Prairie at the age of 60 years.
Brian was born on May 11, 1959 in Victoria, BC to Philip and Trudy Wood. He spent many years in the Victoria area until his move to Merritt, BC where he met Sandra and they moved to Grande Prairie where they were married on May 21st, 1983. He gained two step – daughters, Nikki and Angie, as well.
Brian spent many years working at Horne & Pitfield Foods until he took his Heavy-Duty Parts Sales training and went on to work for Bradvin and then moved onto Traction Heavy Duty Parts until his passing. He loved his job and was very good at what he did.
He loved to spend time with his seven grandchildren; you could always find him at the Jackpot, having dinner and a game of pool with them. They will miss him immensely.
Brian is survived by his sisters, Angela (Donny), Karen (Jerry), Glenda (Albert), Ellen (Steve) and brothers, Clifford (Denise), and Murray (Debbie. He is also survived by his stepdaughters Angie (John), Nikki (Todd) and seven grandchildren; Ryland, Tanner, Nathan, Alexandra, Layton, Victoria and Mathew, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife of 33 year, Sandra, in May of 2016, his mother, Gertrude and father, Philip and numerous aunts and uncles.
A private gathering for Brian’s family will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2019. Friends and coworkers are welcome to join the family at 7:00PM for a time of remembrance. For more information please contact Bear Creek Funeral Home 780-830-7742.
