Anthony 'Tony' DeMarco avis de deces

August 16 1920 ~ August 26 2019 (age 99)
DeMarco, Anthony (Tony) in his 100th Year
(1920-2019)
After a full and enriched life, it is with sorrow that the family announces Anthony’s passing at NBRH in North Bay. Anthony was the son of the late Carmen and Antonia DeMarco and was born in Podargoni, Calabria, Italy. He is predeceased by the love of his life, Joan, brother Frank and sister Connie. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Judith (John), Christine (Alan), Carmen (Angie) and Lisa (Norman). He will forever be in the hearts of his 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Anthony retired from DeMarco’s Confectionary at the age of 94, after years of creating a gathering place for generations of customers who became lifelong friends. He will be remembered for his unwavering faith, love of literature and the arts, passion for sports (especially his beloved Chicago Cubs), artistic talent, dedication to family and generosity of spirit. He was known for his natural athletic ability, as both a coach and player. He embraced cottage life, creating memories that will continue to bring families together for years to come. Anthony leaves a legacy of integrity, kindness, community involvement and love of life. Over 99 years, there has been so many who have enriched our father’s life with their compassion and care. We thank them with grateful hearts- Matt and Tammy Stewart, Dave Henschel, Dr. Jinnah, Rose Joly (our angel), Sue and Robert Cunningham, Annette Dutrisac, Paula Burnet, VON nurses, P.S.W., the staff of 3-C at the North Bay Regional Health Centre and the Coffee Club for their love and support. A special thank you to Lisa and Norm who opened their hearts and home to dad for the past 5 years. We are forever grateful! Family will receive visitors at the McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Sunday September 1, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption on Monday September 2, 2019 at 10 am. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Pro-Cathedral, Near North Palliative Care or the NBRHC would be appreciated.
